About an hour ago, Justin Ouellette solved one of the largest problems of our culture: it is very difficult to discover new music.
Muxtape succeeds where other discovery services fail. Finding and listening to new music is now personal.
It’s also fun, elegant, and hi-fi. Well done, sir.
Really, really nice. Congrats, Justin.
No! I don’t understand how this solves the problem of finding new music, especially when there is no directory or listing of mixtapes that others have made (social web, right?). In fact, Muxtape doesn’t strike me as a music discovery service at all, but rather (like I said earlier) a fancy UI for storing play lists and accessing them on the web.
If you want to find new music, try one of the million music blogs out there, try following recommendations from services like iTunes or Amazon, and try, I dunno, going to shows? Reading music mags? Talking to other humans about music you like?
This “web 2.0” thing is not the solution for everything, folks.
