There’s already some great muxtapes! The ability to discover relevant new muxtapes will be the very next thing I do after a couple bug fixes. Also coming soon: M4A support, RSS feeds (last minute omission from the launch schedule), more customization, many many many other things.
Alright, alright, so it’s “in beta.” Like every other web service in existence. But it isn’t a music discovery service yet, so all those blowhards touting it as such are still wrong. At least for the moment.
However… I’ll admit, I broke down and created one of my own, and I guarantee better tunes than all those other D-bag mixes. Be sure to check out that Ratatat tune, as well as “Princess Bride.” Oh, and “Drilling”, an amazing Minus the Bear tune. Well, it’s good shit all around, really.
Oh, and you’ve got to love the disclaimer on the upload page: “By uploading a song you agree that you have permission to let Muxtape use it.” Sure, sure, of course I have permission, I own copyright on all these songs…
